I wish I had mine, took me over a year to work out what my colour was.

I am not even sure if cars like mine came with a sticker since it was a Nissan colour apparently.

Hello all,

Need some input !

Draw ALL colours for the paint code stickers.

Was there a cut-off regarding curved edges / sharp edges and capital letters / normal letters during the years ?

What about German / English text ?

What I already achieved !

Hello,
I'm in the process of creating these for the '67 Beetle. What font did you end up setting that is as close to the org as possible?

HOLY old thread lol.

stickers vary by manufacturer of the sticker throughout the years. Font, ALL caps, no caps, just first letter caps, word with no caps but L caps etc.... Even the size of the sticker itself.

this is with ALL stickers not just paint codes.

I went through the T34 World archives and found a few original paint decals from 1966-69. It appears that although other VW models were fitted with decals from 1962-65, the T34s didn't receive decals. The first T34 decal is in late-1966. The 1966-67 T34s have the first-letter upper case only. And 1969 decals are all lower case. The T34s with two-tone paint had the body color on the upper line and the roof color on the lower line in lower case. And beginning in early-1968 they began printing on two lines for monotone-colored cars, but not in all cases.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is that tag that appears to be under some of these stickers? You can also see where the tag used to be in others.

It says "Prüfer" and "Dat", which means Inspector and Date. Since it's under the paint sticker I'm assuming it means the paint was inspected and approved.

Ask the guy who started this post if he made one with your color.

He has an ad running

Its amazing....but not suprising.....the level of variation in these decals. They were probably just contracted to the in house screen print department. They may also have been letterpress....or both.

The knes in the 411/412 are slightly different still. Similar looks and font......but some had a clearcoat printed over the top. Some had a brushed foil....instead of a flat foil like those.....some had a printed silver background.

I am reprinting my own. Ray
