I own a Zwitter, so I have the oval dash. I have the Motometer Rally Gauge Set. It replaces the center speaker grill, but I am going to have to cut the dash to accomadate the gauges. Do I not cut the dash as to not mutilate the dash (nothing has been cut as of yet), or do I install the set? I love the set and went through hell and high water to put together an original set. But I hate to cut or destroy any original precious metal???????
PLEASE HELP!!!
How much will value be effected? _________________ The world maybe round, but mine is oval.

I'd do it! Oval dashes are easy enough to find or just keep the pieces you cut out. |

If you have the senders so it will really work I would cut it in a second. |

If you cut it, you better be ready to let it go with the car is you ever sell it. |

PLASMA! PLASMA cutter. Nice and clean. And you can keep the pieces if you or someone wants to revert. |

Precious metal? Here's my friend hacking holes in his dash to install a set of the MotoMeter Rally gauges. Not a Zwitter, but a far more uncommon 1957 vert!

If you have the correct gauges, it can affect the value of the car by $1500-$2k. That of course is adding value! _________________ 1947 Typ 11a

Yea, looks as though I'm going to cut. The thought just kills me, but I do love the set. Mine is a little different than the one in the vert. Gauge holes are the same, but mine has two spots, up top, for little lights or something. Now they have little metal like plugs or knock outs that can be removed for the lights. _________________ The world maybe round, but mine is oval.

I'm assuming that picture was just for show? I wouldn't use a hole saw without covering the radio, seats, and so on for safety. _________________ How to Post Photos

Plus I got the set and then wanted other gauges so I collected others. I now have two of the clocks (54, 5, one oil pressure (54), one oil temp (56), one gas (56), one amp (66). Those are all the larger Motometer ones. I then purchased a few small motometer ones that I now am going to have to try and sell. _________________ The world maybe round, but mine is oval.

Looks as though the radio slot was cut a little big in the vert, or is that just a shadow? _________________ The world maybe round, but mine is oval.

Actually, yeah, that was just before we turned on the hole saw. No safety coverings at all. _________________ 1947 Typ 11a

Because he's a cheap ass. Notice the rear view mirror? And, what expensive accessories? _________________ 1947 Typ 11a

Wow! You know I never thought that far ahead. Is that what he did? I was going to put in a DVD system anyway, so I will be ok with speakers and amps. _________________ The world maybe round, but mine is oval.
