We dont have loading docks here, and are unloading double stacked US Pallets, but we cant find a pallet truck that will do the job. Do you guys have low profile pallet trucks?

We have pallet trucks, but the wheels get caught on the bottom deckboards, making them a nightmare to move. It doesnt help that they are reefer containers with ribbed floors!!

Electric pallet jacks were used at the last place I worked to unload the trucks:

It allows you to double stack and unstack the pallets. There was never a problem with unloading any of the trucks with these. Of course, they are not very low profile. Sad

Use a counterbalance forklift or an electric dock stacker. If you have none in your warehouse, rent one.

Pallet trucks can only be used if the pallet is loaded such that the stringers are facing parallel to the sides of the van trailer. If it is loaded sideways, only a counterbalanced machine can remove it. A pallet truck wont unstack a double stack of pallets anyway.

this is a counterbalance lift truck

this is a dock stacker

this is an electric stacker, it wont work because of the toeboxes (also referred to as outriggers)

a reach truck with a pentagraph will also work because it scissors out to clear the toeboxes, as shown here

but good luck trying to drive it into a van trailer without a dock plate. actually good luck getting ANYTHING into a trailer without a dock plate.
