Interior is tastefully done, has beige seats and door panels look like sewfine. Has a roll bar custom top and framing for it, dash has been hacked around the radio area for switches and gauges at you would expect out of the exterior it has a unknown size dual carbed dual port. Will take some better pictures cleaned up. |

Picked it up Saturday and brought it home, motor turns out to be a 1776 have the ebay listing from 2005 when it was purched a nice to know write up on the car.
Here are some pictures of the interior and exterior after a quick cleaning.
My wife and I discussed the car today we are going to clean it up and list it for sale in the next couple weeks so we can concentrate on our westy. |

I finially got a restorable ghia this weekend. This care has been off the road and stored inside for the last 20 years...it looks to be truely rust free. I haven't dug into it yet, but, I've looked at it very carfully from the outside...and it sure looks good to me. Plus, it came with a truckload of parts...some of which you can see in the background if you look close.
Here are a couple pictures.

|
|
Yesterday I was out at the Richmond Pick-N-Pull (California) looking for a seat for my Saab, and ran into a 1970 Ghia Couple. Engine was half gone. All the tail lights and instruments were gone. Interior looked pretty bad, but the shell was sound, except for a bit on the back, and all the windows were pristine, including chrome. No idea about the pan.
Today I went out to photograph it for this thread and also to find out how much they'd want for what was left of it. Alas, I got there literally 15 minutes after it was taken to the crushing area even though it had "Do Not Crush" written on it's rear quarter panel.
When I went back to that area I could see it from a distance, it's little red nosey sticking out from underneath a 1980s Chevy mini-van, almost saying "Thank you for thinking about me."
Another Ghia gone to the great Autobahn in the sky.
Makes me sick writing this and thinking about it. And it shows you should never let ideas pass by. I had thought about salvaging all the glass and chrome yesterday, but then decided to hold off and research pricing and what Ghia projects are listed at. _________________ 1967 VW Double Cab Pickup

Hi guys.. haven't had a ghia in a while.. a guy who comes to my gym spotted me driving my ghia a couple years back.
Here is the ol' ghia.
Recentlly , he told me his father has one just like it thats just been sitting for a long time, so I got his address and went to take a look.. Obviously it has had the 80s/90s treatment at one point, with the peach paint and white leather interior.
He starts it up and drives it around the block about once a month to keep it drivable.
I know it's hard to judge a vehicle by a few pictures, but what do you guys feel would this car is worth, and what would be a fair offer? Thinking about getting it for the ol' lady.. she's always liked ghias, and with this paint job it'd be right up her alley.. |

DRUMMING123:
I can't really address the value, but that paint is interesting. My grandmother had a 1962 Plymouth Valiant in that color. And I know the Dodge Dart, which was Dodge's version of the Valiant, also used that color.
BTW: What do you call that color of your's, Lime Green?

He called the color 'peachy clean' and said it was his mothers favorite color, so maybe she found it from another car?
Anyway, my old ghia was rustoleums finest 'satin green apple'.. I really liked that color. |

If he's asking $45 including running gear, that's cheaper than their current kits when you take into account the exchange rate.
I was at the local hobby shop last week and was shocked at how much they want for models now; especially airplanes. Some were near $100!!

| Spotted a convertible ghia partially covered under a tarp, SW Portland, I'll swing by for a pic, looked to be a post 70 model. It looked like it was having some serious neglect. |

This '67 vert was pulled from an estate sale recently and just delivered to my shop. I'm thinking this one may be a keeper
