I picked up a nice 69' Ghia yesterday. No rust, and a super straight body, but just a little dirty from sitting for some time under a tarp. Can't wait to jump right on it and get it fixed up and back on the road.

Friend of mine spotted some people dragging this out of a shed yesterday, I swooped in and nabbed it for $500 Smile 68 Ghia, apparently had some very nasty work done to it in the past. Rockers are gone, headlights are messed up. Grills on front filled in, bumpers AWOL. On the plus side it is a running, stopping vehicle. Check out those rims, I haven't seen these ones before. They say Center Line on them and have some suspiciously 3rd Reich era looking eagles on the caps. Current plan is fix the worst of the issues and just drive and enjoy.

Spent weeks looking for a ghia vert that I can build for the wife and I. Ok, Mostly me, but found this 66 in Tucson that has had some work done to it, has some finishing up to do.

New sway bar, front axle, disk brakes, and floor pan looks new, just had an odd paint/sealant on the inside. bottom looks immaculate, thought the paint seal was hiding something, but no, just a bad idea that a wire stripper will have to remove.

Need to find door glass, interior panels, replace the top, paint, and work on the engine.

Wow that looks like a really nice straight floorpan, and the bodywork looks very solid too. Looks like you've got a good foundation for your project Smile

Agree, very nice and solid car to work from. Looks like a later IRS pan swap/upgrade.

Probably drain holes to stop rain ingress pooling in the floor. Engine looks to be missing a lot of cooling tin & the seal to the body, need to sort that before driving it more than 50 feet!

Anyone seen this early Ghia Vert in Mass about to be crushed? There has to be a couple of parts to salvage.

Couldn't say "no" to this 1959. Seems when there is something out there that The Samba doesn't know about, it becomes even more exciting. Bought from an 81 year old car enthusiast still full of life but thinning his herd. I love it.

John knows. Yes, it hasn't arrived yet. Too anxious, so had to post the pics he sent me; a scan of photos with handwriting, yes a hand written note in cursive. Two things that you don't see much of these days. Gotta share,..he tells me he is about as high tech as number 2 pencil ! I'll post up when it arrives. My new friend is sending a care package that comes with some literature and documents...nice!
