Shifter above is used on exact same spot as mine.

I would be interested to know the VIN of your car, because we exactly have same car, color, interior, dash...

Sounds like very good deal always come to you, you're very lucky.

For all the times that I have run into good deals, I was recently burned really bad from someone who posted up here and took me for tons. I have not said anything about it on here but I have been anxious to let it out. I will probably post up a new thread for it so hopefully others may get something from it. I won't ramble on here.

I would (and have) chase them around this and every forum I knew they were on bad mouthing the a-hole (they probably use the same 'name' everywhere-- search for it) -- I would make his life as uncomfortable as humanly possible until he made it right --

I've been chewed on by Everett for doing it on here -- -- butttt, I finally got it settled -- --

I would hit their profile once or twice everyday and see where their last posts were at (no matter what thread) and copy and paste a "nice" message I had on file stating what a slimebucket they were... and at least once or twice a week (sometimes daily) I'd post into their feedback how they wore a azzhat for doing me nasty --

misrepresentation/misleading/lying is fraud by legal definition and you are entitled to get satisfaction -- once they have made a statement of condition, even if they are selling 'as-is', they are still responsible for that condition to be true...............

Coming, once I have some time to sit down. Won't talk about it anymore here, Everette. You know what its about. Was worried it might affect (don't know why) any possible litigation. I'll just point to the link for it once I post it up for the people who have been following this thread.

Yes, please use the feedback section.

If you starting stalking them in every Forum and filling up normal threads with junk this would make me mad - it would be removed and you could possibly be banned unless it stopped.

Ghiafreek's issue I am aware of and the person is not on the site anymore.
It is not an issue related to Ghias.

Oh s**t sorry for you...
And thanks sharing that even it was a very bad experience.
I think it will remind all of us how we need to very carrefull before doing wire transfer and making sure ownership on vehicle is clean.

Picked this 73 up last week for $500, from a very nice local couple who are moving down to FL. Came with all the parts needed to get her on the road. Even has working A/C!!!

She starts right up and drives like a champ!

Hmmm, I can't think of any serious issues related to Ghia vehicles, at least not that had to involve the police.

Parts... yes, or at least I can think of a situation someone had where I may have involved the police or the courts.

Sadly there is someone who was a Ghia Forum regular who seems to have let the Ghia community down recently: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=574370

If anyone knows him and is in contact...rattle his cage. He reads but doesn't respond to Samba PMs Confused

I just found this one in Harrisonburg VA for $800. It's rusty and doesn't run but it's complete.

Greetings Ghia Fans,
I'm a little out of place here, as I spend most of my time in the split bus forum. Please don't judge me too harshly, as I have owned / grew up in every type of VW except a Ghia. Yes, that even includes a 411 and a 412.
While on a bus hunting trip, I came across this 58 up on blocks in a salvage yard not too far from home.

It looks to have been here for quite a while. It seems fairly complete.

Engine seems all there. It even has a gas heater in the bay. I could not turn it over by hand. The shifter moves through the gears well.

Interior is a bit sunbaked, but looks like all the parts are there.

I snapped some photos of the serial numbers to determine it's age.

Don't hurt your neck on this one. Sorry it's crooked.

We spend some time haggling with the nice lot owner and came to an agreement on price.

He was kind enough to bring the Ghia out to the road a few days later and we loaded it up on my trailer and headed for home.

It's definitely got some "patina". I'm not sure if it's restorable yet, or not. Maybe it's just and organ donor. I haven't spent a lot of time going thru it yet, but hopefully this weekend. Enjoy.

We're enjoying it already. Once you get digging into the condition post it up here in a new topic. You'll find the Ghia regulars very supportive no matter what decision you come to...but a '58 is a great way to start your entry into the Ghia world Very Happy

[quote="ghiafreek"]Couldn't say "no" to this 1959. Seems when there is something out there that The Samba doesn't know about, it becomes even more exciting. Bought from an 81 year old car enthusiast still full of life but thinning his herd. I love it.

more info or a new thread on this one? Great looking car!
