..How do i remove the needle from this speedo, so i can refurb the face?

Carefully note the position of the needle before removing it. Remove the back part of the speedo mechanism from the front part by unscrewing the two bolts and you'll see a "drum" shaped aluminum part sticking out of the front part of the speedo mechanism. Usually you can grab onto the drum part and twist the needle right off. If not, take out all the odometer parts and grab onto the "axle" with a pair of pliers, being careful not to bend the axle.
