The bungee hold down is a multi year fit, not a one year only bastard part Laughing

And is not quite as rare as first believed.
Must have been a hot selling accessory...

Oh.. the cut in the bumper is a kewl way for the decklid not to get chipped.

He wouldn't have had to do that, if he hadn't left a 1 inch gap at the top. Confused

A narrowed beam would have helped here also.
The car has that infamous "Hammerhead Shark" look. Smile

Well, Ronald does claim it's a #2 condition, why should we not believe him? But what is up with his rat's nest-o-wiring he's storing under the decklid? Like saving nuts for winter?

He just sprayed tire shine on the tires before he took those pictures and it didn't dissolve.

I wonder if they guessed how much to ask by looking at the other overpriced junk out there advertised here. Very nice looking car but realistically it could be in the $5-6K range in California.

That car seems way out of range for a hardtop car (Helfen's gonna have another tizzy), but even if it had a sunroof- there's some odd things that make me less trusting:
Customized headlight assemblies, cheap FLVWPS kick scratch guards on doors and the roller pedal all look like the work of an immature owner.
The parking brake looks sprung- like it's been so out of adjustment it was pulled up above the cam.
Repainted wheels makes me wonder what else was repainted.
All in all, it's really no longer the well-preserved 2 owner car it started out as many years ago...

not sure if I'm in awe that someone COULD spend over $100,000 on this car, or that someone DID spend over $100,000 on the restoration of this car.

Wow, I did not know that was possible.

That's the car that was (IMO) ruined by restoration. I much preferred the history it showed.

jwp67 X2. There are a few (lots) that I have issues with "100% stock factory restoration" rechromed bumpers? West Coast Metric interior? Finest parts available? 14 months to restore (restroyed) $100,00.00. Rolling Eyes Did I miss something. You have what looked like a beautiful unrestored 100,000th VW & you ruined it & now you only want serious offers after probably overpaying to have the car "done" What was done was destroying a nice car!

I was going to say something about that, but I figured someone else would. Even with the best of the best as far as parts are concerned, $100,000 seems like a ton of money to restore a '66. I could restore a few '66's for that much money.

I'm still laughing my ass off about eyetzr's sigline:

"I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done""

Well done sir. Well done. (Pun intended.)
