I looked at that one too. Alot of rust issues it seems to me. THese prices are just incredible. If it rolls it seems to command a $4000 price tag. When was the last time you saw one for sale for $2500? I've seen a couple locally. But they are really really trashed. Or modded in some extreme way. But you have to remember these are asking prices. It's to bad the sell section does not make you leave the actual sale price up with your ad. Even after it's cancelled. Some other forums I belong to do that. And it makes finding a correct price for something alot easier. Most of these prices are asking prices and negotiated down after a long time of not selling. I don't think people are paying many of these prices.
Makes me wish i had held onto every bug I ever owned. |

Here's a little positivity for this thread. This car is worth every bit of $17,500 IMHO. It doesn't get any more original than this. I'm surprised at some of the good deals found on the oldbug.com page. Some of those cars would be getting the ridiculous plus 10k numbers you see on other websites. If they were shown elsewhere. Yet they are only asking in the 5k to 6k range.
This one is a beauty at 17.5k:

Also take a look at that white '66 on the oldbug page too. It's sold. But it sold for less than $8900. Which I think was an amazing deal. You could eat off any part of that car. I missed buying it by one day! I have to give Randy his props. He knows how to price a car. And you can tell he's not upselling his customers that sell their cars on his site. He's at least fair about his numbers. And his evaluations of old VW's. There may be a couple cars over priced a bit. But I feel like that's probably the owners doing. And not Randy's.
This car would be a $15,000 car on any other website. Yet it sold for less than $8900:

EDIT - Those don't actually look that bad in the appropriate size. Mine are so big they make it look like a clown car! |

Funny, I was thinking the same thing when I saw the car. It's beautiful for sure and so original. I agree the price is very good as well. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

Cant go to Wallhell and buy the parts.. and finding parts for those without buying an entire clip or car.. .. is tough and luck..
IMO.. yep.. thats worth it... if thats what you need...
Best case.. sell off what you dont need..

I'd be concerned about the part that says screw for handle is broken off. The set pin/screw goes on from the side not the top. might be OK but might be a problem in that area. _________________ Rick

Does this still look fairly complete besides the obvious rear bow and the handle?
