OK tell me if I'm wrong . But yes 79 last rear, but some were made into January of 1980. So if you want to call them 1980 that is OK with me. _________________ 1987 syncro westy tin top sun roof , GW2.3, rear locker, decoupler, Gary Lee tire rack & winch mount, lift, south african grill, big brakes , rhein alloy ,15 BFG AT, Fiamma 10 foot awning ,140 watt rear 85 watt front solar , mppt, truckfridge, automatic fire extinguishing system, tencent oil cooler, And a RMW SS exhaust! - 1971 bug convertible 1776 engine- 2010 Subaru turbo - 1993 Toyota 4x4 truck - 1999 Harley 95 CI, big bore, Andrews cams . Yes, European production went into January 1980. Problem is from 78 on they were convertibles only. _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.

Thanks! Now that I looked at it better it's just a Mexican Beetle . Black light rings , bumper lights, and a carb. _________________ 1987 syncro westy tin top sun roof , GW2.3, rear locker, decoupler, Gary Lee tire rack & winch mount, lift, south african grill, big brakes , rhein alloy ,15 BFG AT, Fiamma 10 foot awning ,140 watt rear 85 watt front solar , mppt, truckfridge, automatic fire extinguishing system, tencent oil cooler, And a RMW SS exhaust! - 1971 bug convertible 1776 engine- 2010 Subaru turbo - 1993 Toyota 4x4 truck - 1999 Harley 95 CI, big bore, Andrews cams . That is a 1993-2004 Fuel injected mexican Sedan.
The seat covers pattern its from 1999-2003
That thing on the engine is not a "carb", its a throttle body with sensors: throttle Position Sensor and air intake temp sensor.
The last standard Sedan was made in Germany (at the Wolfsburg factory) in 1974 _________________ Parts VW

I have to admit it's a very sharp car, for what seems like a good price (and possibly could be had for even less since apparently the guy doesn't know his bugs)- if I had the money to spend I might be seriously looking at it. _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.

I assume you mean because of the condition? There wasn't a triple black epilog sedan... |
Yes- purely on condition. _________________

I know this could go either here or in the split forums- but I just got a kick out of this guy! Kind of the Sam Kinnison of the VW world.

I don't want to complain too much but a lot of companies make the original style trunk liner without the original pattern with the lines in it. The original ones had the lines on them and the reproduced ones are just flat. They are also more expensive than what I would pay for a reproduction. Here's an example of the original |

this guy here ruined what seems to be a pretty solid car. If anyone can figure how to post pics from CL I'd appreciate it, this should be saved for posterity:

Much easier way.
Right click on the picture in craigslist, and select "copy image location."
Then in your post on here, click the "Img" tab up above twice, and you will see this:
[img][/img]
Paste that copied image location between the two bracketed Img's and that's it.
P.S. This method also provides a link to the image location on the internet, thereby saving space on the samba servers. _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.
