has anybody, or is there a kit to put a Auto Meter speedo in vw's? i really want to go to a different setup over stock, and i like the autometer phantom guage.
i would like to do the speedo, seprate fuel, oil pressure and voltage gauge's. just break up the dash a little bit

VDO is probably the best way to go. They are expensive, but you get what you pay for in the end.
They have a complete line of gauges for almost any application.

There are many other sources out there too... |

I say buy the "auto meter" brand
Their made here in my home town and its one of the few places still helping with my property taxes |

From the google search I did, they are made in Taiwan.
Unless you are on their payroll, they are not helping your payments on any property taxes. |

Look at the bottm of the contact page. It says Sycamore IL. One of my friends was an electrical engineer for them.

Although they are based in Sycamore, they still may have some of their production done overseas. They can't put a "Made in USA" sticker on it, but they still probably design and assemble them in the US. Many companies do this.
So, I'm saying, you're all probably right
I've a friend who's an Autometer dealer, and I want to go with them simply because of price. If 2 guages work and both look good, then why pay more for one (VDO) then the other (Autometer)? |
