Ohh here's the last of my 2013 Christmas Cards/Presents etc.

Here's a Dinky #182 Porsche 356A coupe that I acquired from a Dinkytoys collector from MALTA! (thanks Joe!)

Alu-spun wheels with a flat black baseplate, it represents one of the last toys made ca. 1965.

Cerise Red is the rarest color of the Dinky #182 series.

Here's hoping everyone had a nice Holiday and that 2014 brings great new toy finds for you as well. Very Happy

Enjoy!

Here's a *very lucky recent find* an original Dinky #262 Swiss Post PTT Beetle from ca. 1957 to 1959.

I've wanted one of these for a long time, I've always been a big fan of the Swiss Postal color scheme of that Chrome Yellow and Black look.

This toys got some silver paint details added by the previous owner like the rear air vents, door handles and he touched up the headlights and bumpers, it would be too risky to try to remove the paint, so I'm leaving it as-is, it's still a very good example of a pretty rare toy.

Enjoy!

For me wind-ups are where it is at for toys. I do have my share of static models, and that number rises faster than the wind-ups, but I am very happy when I can score a nice early tin clockwork VW toy. I am mostly into Buses, but I make exceptions for cool Beetles.

DUX started with this Split Window Beetle(rear window painted on)

Here is a set a lucky kid would have got probably somewhere in the late 50's, early 60's(note Beetle window is now Oval)

The Panel Bus from DUX 61 set. Note rear bumper is supposed to be missing as it is a Barndoor

This Kombi has the rarer light green lower body

Later on DUX went to plastic models, still with clockwork motors. The Beetle went to having the bigger rear window, and the Bus went to an all blue non Barndoor. The roof was kept on with a emergency vehicle light on the top(no pic)

A Professional *Werner* Marklin Shop Restoration on the Porsche 356.

An Original paint 1956 issue Dinky #181 Oval window.

And finally a very nice Original Paint Marklin Karmann Ghia coupe.

All these going to a collection in the Northeast, thanks Mike!

Cool! Do you have pics of the bottoms and the rear of the cars? It'd help to identify. I am sure someone here might know.

I really like that Kommandeurwagen style with the big tires!!

Hey neat! Those look like Arnold VWs. I didn't know they made VWs! I can't quite make out the script but that symbol looks very much like my Arnold Tank scripts. I do know they made jeeps, but now I will have to be on the hunt for a Beetle! Thanks for sharing Very Happy

Yes, both cars are Arnold Beetles. The Kommandeurwagen seems custom made as I never saw one similar to this before.

Arnold made soft plastic VWs and Ovals as well.

Cool

Thank you for the information, so do you think its a one and only? Made for a special person or event? The person who owned it is a Huge VW Guy Here, the guy selling it for him Danny Z from cal another VW Guru, thinks its factory made. whats different about this one is interior ( all Brown ), steering wheel (Black) and wheels! I hope someone can shed the light more on it. Aloha

That Kommandeurwagen is home built, the Germans at the time of the original production would have NEVER made a WW2 item, they were ALL trying to forget WW2 as much as they could.

Also note the screws holding the chassis, not original and the paint job is not up to factory quality.

I agree with Tom , definately the ARNOLD Kommandeurwagen is home built.

ARNOLD did not paint any of their plastic toy Volkswagens bodies, except silver for the trim items, that were sold in stores back in the 1950s.

Here is a link for other ARNOLD VWs that have been converted from original broken toys.
