I agree with Tom , definately the ARNOLD Kommandeurwagen is home built.
ARNOLD did not paint any of their plastic toy Volkswagens bodies, except silver for the trim items, that were sold in stores back in the 1950s.
Here is a link for other ARNOLD VWs that have been converted from original broken toys.

Aloha again guys thank you for all the feed back, here is where I'm confused, yes the two screws on the under courage is different, ( I believe it was taken apart ) ok fine. The steering wheel ( which is unique ) rims and tires ( fits like a glove) and interior (all brown) looks like it goes with this Arnold body and frame? I'm tempting to unscrew those screws and see. Also the body is not painted! Hmmmm? What is the purpleish one worth today? Mahalo |

First off, if you got that coral colored one for $20, you stole it. Congratulations.
The weird thing about the sand-colored Arnold that grabs my attention is the military tread tires. I've never seen an Arnold with tires like that.
That's not to say I believe it to be original. (ESPECIALLY if the body has been painted) It looks like bodywork repairs under the fenders. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

The Arnold Jeeps had those type of tires I think. Maybe a previous owner changed them out? I know I have an old Solido Beetle I would like to make into a regular or Kommandeurwagen Wartime Beetle(since I will never be able to afford the real thing ). So I am sure past toy owners have had the same inclinations, as do present, and will future owners. Just like the real cars, some of these models serve to partially fulfill our ownership dreams. |

1:48 scale diecast vehicle from the Hobby Master 1:48 Ground Power Series HG1801. Volkswagen VW 82E Kubelwagen German Army, Berlin, Germany, 1945.
Length 3 inches
Width 1 inches
Features:
True 1/48 scale.
Professionally painted.
Great attention to detail.
All markings are Tampoed (pad applied).
Rubber wheels.
Extremely heavy metal with a minimum of plastic.
Highly collectable.
During WWII Germany developed and used numerous vehicles as staff cars. These vehicles were assigned to every branch of the military and depending on the rank of the user an appropriate size and degree of comfort and luxury was provided. Senior officers and high ranking government officials used large smooth riding vehicles while the lower ranks were given rides that went from small but enclosed and semi-comfortable to open-topped vehicles designed for battlefield use.
One of the many roles the Type 82E was used in was a staff car. The Type 82E was a simple, plain vehicle and lacked the glamorous finish and extras of the larger vehicles used by senior officers. The Type 82E was usually provided to mid and junior officers as well as low ranked government officials. Compared to some of the other vehicles that were available to lower ranked personnel the Type 82E offered; a degree of comfort, an enclosed cabin providing warmth and protection from the elements. ( Found this information online. ) check out how close the colors are also.

Here's my Delightful Dux Oval Window, got it last year, but didn't get chance to take any photos until now........
1:35 scale tin plate toy, with clockwork motor, somewhat rarer version in Metallic Ice Blue, I see alot of these toys in very played out condition, finding one that's near mint and also stateside, was quite a rarity.
It came from an estate sale, where the people who passed away, had lived in Germany back in the 1950's and they brought some toys back with them, this toy was packed away in a dresser drawer for over 50 years!
I've scaled down a little with my toys, (I sold some Marklin and CIJ toys the past few weeks, thanks Mike!) I have a trade happening soon for some rare Wiking VW's and then that's it for now, until I get that long awaited package of Marklin Barndoor buses from Germany. (I might be? selling some of those toys, so anyone who'd like a really nice Marklin Barndoor bus for their collection should contact me.)
Enjoy!

nice Dutch bug! I keep wanting one but the couple I've seen went beyond my budget at the time:)
I'd like to introduce myself- have been collecting since I was 12 at my first show (Farmington, NC IVWA- 21 years ago) but have sold most of what I had a few times because of school, etc. Here are a few shots of some of my VWs- need to redo cabinets, etc. before I take more pics.
My Wikings at the Esso station with the Märklin streetcar coming by-
1/43 crew at the Marx station:)
some fun with Homies and a Keystone Service Station from the 40s

I do have a couple questions, too.
One: does anyone have a method for restoring these Steha bugs? I don't need the squeeker to work but just a good material for sealing a cracked bumper and reforming the body? I tried the oven once and it held for a week or so but flattened out again.
Number 2:
Can someone identify this ambulance? It is one of my favorite bus toys, in spite of (because of?) its resemblance to Geordi la Forge.. just has a cool attitude

I'm not aware of anything that can be done for the Steha cars. My own oval is slowly collapsing too.
That bus is a cheap Hong Kong car of unknown manufacture, just as many Hong Kong toys are. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Great collection, and I like your displays. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.
