Has anyone had any experience with Hot-Spark ignition kits? They sell electronic conversion kits for $39.95 for both 009 and SVDA distributors. They also sell a SVDA distributor with electronic ignition for $119.95.

They are a lot cheaper than Pertronix, so I'm wondering about the quality...

Points replacement?

All it does is trigger the coil. It won't make the spark any hotter with a new coil and/or box.

Glenn"s correct (as usual). These units eliminate the points, and therefore create a perfect dwell, since point gap is no longer an issue.

Hotter spark would have to come with a "box" such as an MSD or comperable.

My next engine has this, it is not installed yet so thus the curve is not tuned yet. I will not be using TPS or map @ first. I will however have a fake TPS signal to move timming up and down on the fly without having to have my computer with me while I drive.

Pointless--thats one of the ideas.

No map because, I never herd of it being used with a carb.

Here some pics of the crank trigger guy's turbo Thing.
