I call my '65 bug Old Blue. Sad thing is that people still ask me why I call my 48 year old vw, which is painted sky blue, "Old Blue". Talk about a "here's your sign" moment. |

Fun thread:
My 59 bug has had the name MJ (Mary Jane) since her build...NOT a drug reference, more a Full Metal Jacket reference.
My 58 lowlight has been named Norma Jean...no reason, just sounds sexy.
The best is my 60 panel who has been named Mack, after my dad. My dad had his colon removed from cancer so I told him I named my bus Mack because, like him it was old, hard working, beat up and missing some parts. _________________ 1957 Lowlight

When I bought my bug, the PO said her name, "Sally Ann," had been passed down from the OG owner. It was either the name of his wife or girlfriend. I didnt have the heart to change it, so "Sally Ann" sits in the garage as we speak. |

Our 61 bus was 'the Blue Ox'. Hauled us and our crap all over the West coast when I was a kid.
My wife's NB was 'Lola'. Not sure why.
Our blue 67 was 'boo', now seems to be 'Bugeeeee'. My son is 2, and we're waiting for him to name it. He loves that car more than anything so we thought it was appropriate. it is literally the first thing he says to me every morning. 'Bugeeee'? |

I had owned my bug for a long time without giving it a name, but one day got tired of being asked "what's its name." Feeling cranky upon being asked for the umpteenth millionth time and the second time in a day, I responded to the person with "Miss Anne" not saying it being short for Miss Anne Thrope. It's my little inside joke. |

Olive....my green 69 bug.
It is actually two colors since it was repainted by a PO about 15 years ago. The interior, and inside the trunk, engine compartment, etc is all the original Peru Green. The major portion of the exterior is somewhat close to Peru green... _________________ 1969 Beetle - "Olive"
