igtoth - nice job posting all those engines, we don't see a lot of them in north america. the variant and SP1 engine bays are sweet, so dry and perfect looking. they look like they are from collector-owner cars.

Shorrock Supercharger on a '65 40hp engine fitted with a big bore kit - 1385cc.

My '58 Ghia Coupe came with the replacement 40hp engine. Shorrock didn't make a kit for the earlier 36hp engine. Fits neatly without the need to cut the decklid.

PostPosted: Mon Dec 13, 2010 12:00 pm    Post subject: Anyone know about engine code starting with "AD"? Reply with quote

Sorry if this is a new subject, but I am kinda new to the VW community and need help. I just bought somebody's 1600dp for a good (cheep) price, but when he delivered it to me I checked my sources for engine codes and could not find an AD. I haven't actually run it yet, so I don't know how it performs.

Q: Sould I worry? Please don't tell me I got ripped-off, cuz the deal is done. I just want to know what my future will be with this motor. Thanks guys! Karl J. in Phx
