Hi,
I'm from Belgium and I'd like to introduce my project here.
This is my first project and I never welded before, but that's a challenge !
I hope you'll like it and excuse me for typing errors
I bought this Californian 65 panelvan approx 1 year ago. As I began to strip the bus, I
realised it would be a hell of a job, but that's the way I like it
Arrival:

I needed a complete cabinfloor, but I knew it would be hard to find and very expensive.
Inspired by a few Thai, I began to practice and I made this:

I'm from "Kortrijk" in West-Flanders, approx 100km from Braine L'alleud
I bought this bus in December 2005, and those last pics of the cabin floor are made last week. At this moment, I'm looking forward to receive the 3 crossmembers and jacketpoint so I can weld in my floor.
Within 4 weeks, the complete roof will arrive in Rotterdam , work enough with that roof-transplant
I'll keep you up to date |

Where are you finding those clamps? The local shop here doesn't stock them. _________________ For those, who wish to contribute to the Dave Mayes scholarship fund, please PM me, read here.

I bought them in Belgium, in a local "welding-shop". But you can make them by yourself! If you want to, I'll take some detailpics so you can see how it works. |

What am I missing about the roof that these pics don't show?
How much time do you estimate you have in to date?

You can't see it that good on this pic, but believe me, there were 2 solutions:
*Get that roof straight with a lot of mastic,
*A complete roof transplant
I didn't put up a smiling face removing the roof, but I want it to be 100% straight, and I'll take it as a challenge
I hope to finish the welding at the end of 2007, so I can hit the road with my "new" panelvan , in summer 2008
Let's hope |

I was pissed, but from now on, the fun begins! If I walk into my garage, I see a 100% rustfree "bus"(if you can call it a bus ) and I have so much fun doing it all by myself... hoping that I complete this panel so it looks like it was sold in 1965,
With a bunch of optimism, half of the work is already done |
