I have to ask a question.
Why do people want to live in the desert where it is 110 degrees in the shade, The lizards and Gila Monsters have a hard time surviving, and rents are $1200+ a month??
My house payment on 2200 sq ft and 26 acres is under $500 a month. And that is on a 10 yr mortgage.
We have green grass, a nice breeze, and a change of seasons. It rains over 35" a year.
Yes, it snows in the winter, but that is why you have a winter beater car to deal with the salt. My heating bill in the winter is probably less than your AC bill is in the winter. About $1000 to heat for the whole the winter. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Russ, sometimes we end up where we grow up. Being an Air Force brat, this is where I was when I turned 18. Since then, I've made many friends and business relationships. It's true that we don't have 4 seasons, but they're an hours drive away and our winters are very mild. July and August are our worst months because the humidity rises, but that's when we vacation to San Diego. I've lived all over the USA and Arizona is home for me. The only other place I'd consider to live would be San Diego, but the cost of living is much higher and there's just too many people. |

Damn, my house in AZ is fully electric and my total electric bill for the entire year is less than $1000. Why would I want to pay $1000 for 4 or 5 months of heat?
I look at it this way, with the exception of San Diego, it sucks to live anywhere for 3 months of the year. Sure, June July and August suck here, but I bet December, January and February suck where you are! |
