ah, now the micromanaging of the carb jetting will begin. 22.5mpg is unacceptable! going to drop the idle jets from 55s to 50s and see where that takes me. then, possibly smaller main jets.

I take it you're driving the Notch to the Invasion?

I am putting CB's Quick Tune on my Notch speedster. If that goes well, I will look to put EFI on this car too in the future. Right now, the EFI I have has the injectors going into the manifolds, not the throttle bodies, or I would put it on this car right now.

What are you gonna do with three running cars? Pick the one that's going to break to drive to the Invasion?

Moved my 5" tach from under the glove box to the dash. It fits the hole and doesn't interfere with the hands at all on the steering.

So did you fix it, when you moved it over? If not, it's hardly worth bothering to do. Rolling Eyes

you mean the signal interference? yeah, i swapped out the other tach/shift light as it was the culprit. It works fine without the rev limiter, but together they were fighting. This tach is just a tach and seems to have no issue with the MSD stuff.

working on adding the Air/Fuel meter today. I have the sensor in place and the wire routed, not I just have to decide where to mount the gauge and run the wires...
Toby is going to wire it in so that it is all nice and tidy.
All that is left for 'needs' before the trip is an oil change, and if I can find a type 3 speedo cable, I'll install one of them. I don't think I've had a working speedo in this car since 2003.

Been an interesting trip in the notch. My mpg on the 2110 is just over 25 Exclamation But, my AFR is at a staggeringly bad 10.7 to 10.9 below 5k feet and in the high 9s low 10s beyond that.
I've always known that my main jets were too big, but I now have some smaller ones to try.
I also found my idles are too small as I am leaning out to almost 19 when I come off throttle to idle at the end of the off ramp.
I will try some jet changes after I get to Colorado Springs and see how they effect the car on the trip back.

The morning will bring the opportunity to change out the main jets. DCNF carbs require a partial dis assembly to change them... so that will take a bit of time. I will do this in the cool of the morning! After that, we will go sight seeing.

Okay, jets are swapped down to 120 on the mains. AFR is a bit better this morning, but the test will be when I get on the freeway at this altitude.
The throttle is more crisp however, that's a nice bonus!

bump your timing up a bit too.
I'm still tweaking mine, but 11 degrees at idle (unplugged) made a big difference.

This isn't timing at idle, it is air/fuel ratio.
