The conversion to EFI continues. I was able to build the rest of the needed fuel system and come up with an idea for rail holders. Tonight I will cut the holders out and test fit. If, and that is a BIG if, the TBs will get a final mounting tomorrow evening! _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

I built the rough outlines tonight for the keepers in carbon fiber. Tomorrow I will clean them up on a sander and cut the 1.75" holes. It looks like I will need to add at least a stiffening ridge as it still flexes. But!!! I'm getting closer! _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

I think these will work! And, they are super, super light... They extend across the top of the TB and are secured with 4 bolts.

With my vision greatly diminished, I am stepping away from the EFI for a bit and I will work on things that don't require great eye sight.
First up, I finally have tires mounted on the front CMS wheels and I will be mounting them on the car tomorrow. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

Sing it with me! "If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all..."
Went to moiunt the CMS wheels today and because of the shoulder on them, I need wheel spacers. Grrrrrrrrr! _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

Still no bueno on the vision, but I should be able to roll the car out of the garage today to mount the wheels. It's a little tiny step, but I am completely lacking in opportunity to do any other kind of work with the current condition and I really want to try and do some EFI tuning during spring break. This is so freaking frustrating! _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

No luck with working on the EFI. More eye surgery stuff this week and more time with limited vision...
So, I am still working on the wheel set up. The right side caliper up front has a bulge that has to be worked down to clear the bolts that hold the wheel halves together... I really like the look of the the CMS wheels and the short rear drag radials sure change the stance of the car.
I also have to pull the engine out... the upper tins have done something I've never seen before. they both have cracked, then split at the rear of both. I might have expected that from the left side where I mounted the oll filter, but not the right. hmmm... _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

June 2 the engine comes out. I'm going to pull the heads as well (losing a valve guide) and swap on a different set up heads I have for more flow and less compression. In the end, that will work better with the turbo.
Still can't see well enough to lay under my dash and finish wiring up the EFI, but I can get the rest of the stuff worked on. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

What kind of efi are you running? Seems to be taking a while to get installed. I found megasquirt to be a quick system to get up and going. |

The time issue is that I've had 11 eye surgeries in the last year and can't see anything clearly.
The set up is the dual TB CB Performance Quick Tune. It will be fine, I just need to be able to see what the heck I am doing. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

Well, Brian doesn't work to fast anyway. Just look at how long this entire project (thread) has been going on, and you'll see he's in no hurry. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Yeah, that's gotta suck. I don't have near your problems in that department but I've always been really far- sighted. I can read a street sign a half- mile away, but working up close is becoming a real pain, even with prescription coke bottle bottom magnifiers. Everything just goes out of focus, and if I don't take a break every few minutes, my vision is shot for an hour from eye strain. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

My eyes aren't quite that good (or bad depending on how you look at it), but I've gotten used to wearing reading glasses for doing anything up close (just can't focus/see very well). But for other things like driving, I've got no problems. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Ahhhh that's no good Bob. I think this could be the kind of project you do with a mate - working in a pair he can be your seeing eye dog.. Then she'll be on the road quick smart. Lucky these days we have auto tune - or it'd be a hell of a job tuning the ve table. Keep going ! |

I'm kind of surprised you haven't gotten Toby to stop by and help you out.
The rims look good with the tires in their proper locations. It looked kind of odd with the tiny rear tires earlier this year (previous page). _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
