Brian, you might double check timing on all four. Retarded (or just not advanced enough) timing can drive EGTs through the roof.

Max, would it effect all four cylinders? Timing is stable at 28 btdc just like I always run it at in this engine.

I don't know anything about your ignition system. So I don't know if different timing (such as might result from a distributor shaft that wasn't cut right or a Compufire disk in which the magnets are not correctly positioned) is even possible.

But you said that 2 and 4 are running really hot so I recommend checking the actual timing at each cylinder.

I sorted the issue (at least so far it seems so). There was an internal failure in the float bowls of the DCNFs. Fortunately, I had spare parts and all seems happier now!

What a barbaric way to get fuel into an engine. Laughing

I am going to put the car up on stands and yank the engine back out this fall/winter and go through it completely. I won't be satisfied until it is corrected and I don't' want to use a band-aide.

I am also putting the LeMans wheels back on as the CMS will go on the speester.

The shop space is coming along nicely. It is 12x12 and the first project that will be in it will be the 1600 rebuild for "White Trashed". After that, the 2110 from the POC will go in. It is going to be so nice to have a dedicated work space!!!

I had to scrap my carbon fiber injector holders (for now) and tonight I built them from aluminum. They aren't as cool, but they are functional.

Finished them up and now I just need to make them pretty! Now, I need to pull the engine and inspect the heads, cylinders and rings.

Yes if I run shorty air cleaners and no turbo. No if I run the blow through set up...
At this point, the back trunk never gets used anyway except for the second spare on long trips.
