Tim,
Nice pic's. I especially find the junker 356's interesting. Wish I had closer access to mountain roads like that as well.

What color is your '55?

Graphite metallic.
I was lucky enough to have the Porsche restoration center in Zuffenhausen spray 2 color cards for me so I could have my local paint shop match it. I would have assumed from the color name that it was only going to be metallic gray, but it has some green and gold/bronze hues. Not a very common color from what I've seen.

Yes it is.

Follow these instructions

First post your pic in the Porsche Gallery. Follow this link to do so:

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/album_cat.php?cat_id=55

Second, Click on the newly posted image of your 356. The picture should show in the middle of your screen. Next click on it again. The image should shift from the middle of the screen to the upper left of the screen. Once the picture shifts to the upper left, go to the address bar, highlight it and copy the address link.

It should read something similar to this:

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/381955.jpg

Third, now that you have copied your link, similar to above, you will go to the Forum for the 356/911/912/914. Open the Pre A thread. Click on Post Reply. A new screen will appear. Click your cursor in the middle of the large box. Then go above to the IMG button.

Click it once. This should appear in the big box: [img]

Next paste you picture link to the gallery. Should look similar to this:

[img]https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/381955.jpg

Next click on the IMG button for a 2nd time. The box should now how your image/picture address with sandwiched between it.

Then post any comments. Or anything else you may want to comment on.

Last hit submit.

The screen should refresh and have your pic and comments posted.

Feel free to give me a call on my cell phone & I can walk you through it in 5 minutes 904.434.5818

Mark

There was a 1954 for sale in Jacksonville, Florida. Circa 1999/2000. the owner was asking $20,000-$25,000 for it. The color looks the same. Sorry for the poor pic quality. These are digital pictures of photographs I took pre-digital age. Not sure where it ended up going...Anyone recognize this '54?

It was on ebay like 18 months ago, sold for $35K or so I think. I remember drooling about it on the day you took those pictures.

What city was the seller/car listed as? Was it for sale in Jax, Fla?

That was a sweet car and the owner was cool too. He gave me a Peter Gregg license plate frame not to soon after the pics were taken.

Don't think this has been posted yet. Here's some pic's from the Florida Owners Group Trek to the Collier Collection. I believe it is a 1951. Designed/modified to run on the Bonnevalle salt flats. Not my cup of tea but none the less an early Porsche

Alright...

Mark,
You have some nice splits. Which do you still own and what are the plans for them.

By the way, great taste in buses & 356's!

Thanks Mark,
The silver car was Sold to buy the Brown car, which is a Far superior car, then most projects I have ever seen. Very Very complete, and almost No Rust, just a hair in the front wall of the battery box. Some incredible things came with that car that you just Never see. Like Original Wood Floor Boards,Original aluminum cover for Spare Tire area and Original Wood Battery Tray, etc. The red car was bought for a few things I needed for the Brown car. Of course like most things these days,it's not enough to just have the money to buy something,it has to be more complex...I had to buy all three in order to just get the Red car.

The silver car is in Germany
The red car is in Italy
The white car is on it's way to Sweden
The late '56 now resides in LA

The Brown car is in my Collection,I plan on driving it to Next years West Coast Holiday in Lake Tahoe.

Very Nice! Thanks for filling in the blanks. I hope you achieve your goal for driving the brown coupe to the Tahoe holiday.

Drive 'em!
