I'm working on what we'll call an art project so to speak. Does anyone know if there is a supplier for a reproduction super 90 emblem that is chome instead of gold plated?
I want this but chrome instead. Thanks

The above image shows the gold plating polished off and only seen between letters where the surface is lower, but it looks like chrome at first glance. The original emblems were brass, so when the gold was gone, the cheaper plating of chrome would occasionally be seen as an "artistic alternative."
Some just polished the brass and coated them with clear lacquer.
I will look to see if I have an old S-90 emblem (suitable for chroming), but others who read this forum may be more likely suppliers, but I know of none for sale, ever, in anything but gold plating. _________________ Bruce Baker

| I'd like to know what Porsche used as an underplate to the gold if it was applied to the brass base metal. Nickel? Chrome? Something else? Or nothing? |

| Thanks for the heads up. I may see how much a chromer would charge, or look at doing some silver spray paint. |

Rattle can chrome and some clear coat should do it. Either that or just polish until the micro thin gold goes away and you can polish and clear coat the base metal.. I would have said Okie Chrome but since you're from OK that would them be the default..... _________________ Regards,
