Does anyone know a place that sells a protective pad to lie over the area between the rear hatch and the engine compartment opening, something to protect it while working on it.
I remember seeing guys with heavy protective pads that they would lie over the fenders while working in the engine bays, something to protect the paint job from a dropped tool. |

If you don't have an old blanket or something, a google search reveals several sources for "fender protectors" and the like. _________________ <---Air Cooled Search & Rescue Team - STICKERS & T-shirts for sale!

Seems like padded vinyl. My dad had some that were real heavy, like they were filled with lead shot, they weren't going anywhere. |

Thats because you're dad had his when they made things to last forever. I know what you mean by the lead shot, my dad had/has one too.
harbor freight may sell one - but unlike your Dads - it probably won't be a local product nor will it last forever. _________________ -------------

Maybe your dad had one of those lead "smocks" they put over you when you get an x-ray? Next time you go to the dentist, request an x-ray, then bolt out the door the second they drape that thing over you. It may be kind of hard to run with it on though...

I'm probably beating a dead horse here. Probably have to settle for piece of vinyl with some padding under it. |
