wiring when painting?????

i am restoring a 67 bug and going to repaint the car. i have a wiring problem now and want that nice look of new wires. the current harness got sprayed when it was painted the last time it was painted and i was told to take a cleaner and clean it and get the current one fixed. they said i was creating a bigger problem than i had now. but i want nice looking wires that work correctly. if anyone has had any GOOD or BAD experiences PLEASE help me and what supplier to get the harness from thanks all also my batterey drains in a matter of a day or two and brake lights dont work and a fem more please help thanks

Pull the harness and reinstall after you paint it.
