They were listed as just steel wheels and when I see the word wheels I will look. Where I live yardsales are a way of living here in the high desert so they don't scrap much here.

That's good to know. People here are scrap crazy. They will throw away $10,000 tools to get a $100, and they think they just made away with a great deal. If you search the term Steel Wheels, you deserve those. I know that takes hours and hours of searching dead ends on craigslist. I'm glad it pays off for you. Very cool. Again, I can't wait to see your future finds.

another obscure australian rim, i believe it was made in the mid to late 70's in kingsgrove sydney. alloy inner with a steel inserts cast into it, steel hoop. 14 by 6"

there was another variation with round holes instead of the triangular ones.

the 2E name comes from them having 2E cast on the inside, no idea if they were called that by the guy who made them.

Ok, for the wheel gurus. Ive looked on the internet and cant find anything. About 20 years ago i had a allison dune buggy. It had 4 lug vw pattern slot mags. The odd thing though was they had 6 slots instead of the usual 5. Any idea what these were? Cant find a picture. They were also skinny in the front and really wide in the back.

On a side note; does an "NOS" classification add value to a set of vintage wheels?

I know ieverything is depending the wheel.

And who will likely get NOS and for what reason? Collection or use in a vintage rare car?

Regards,

From personal experience, yes NOS wheels sell for more money.

I sold mine to a guy who was going to use them, but wanted the boxes, and perfect wheels that didn't need work.
