Very few do their research before posting info like that and it's becoming a common selling point in people's ads. I wish Vw would've just put an extra number spot on the odometer, that would remove all doubt on a lot of cars. |

blahblahblah. Isn't it up to YOU to determine IF the claim is correct? Ask for documentation from the previous "long term" owner. Maybe in fact it exists. Then again, even if it does, does it matter since the engine is NOT og (potential buyers call)? Cars got repainted for a variety of reasons, interiors swapped, etc, etc, etc. Suppose the car had its og engine & the mileage documented, would that matter if the car had been sitting out in who knows what so that it had to be redone? Even if all og does the mileage matter if the og engine was rebuilt? To me once a car is repainted, engine rebuilt, interior swapped - dont care about the mileage - it's just a number. Me, personally am (mostly) unconcerned about such claims even in a #s matching car, condition matters & documentation as does (to a small degree) length of ownership.
To me none of the above matters, all that matters is the very first line "recently purchased from long term owner" = flipper - not interested, at least not at anything anywhere near that price |

On that same note, it does amaze me when advertisers ask so much money for cars that are completely blown apart and a complete project-type 1,2, 3, 4, whatever. I know there's a butt for every seat, but I would think the buyer pool would be significantly decreased? |

It'll cost you $3600 just to get that Canadian standard into the US, and it has the wrong front apron. I guess it depends on how much of a purist you are. |

Wasn't this Joey's (scvw) that was listed last month or so for $11k? Very neat car, I thought it was probably a good deal for 11k. I usually don't post much in the whines but 25k seems pretty steep!

Lol, I almost bought this car. So they pay $11k or less, and now because it's in California it's worth $25k? Good luck, it'll never sell for that. |

Yeah, that's crazy, my brother had a similar but WAY nicer '53 for under $20K and it still took a super long time to sell. |
Everett, your brothers car is actually in my garage right now. Wait til you see it, I'm doing a lot of work to it for my buddy. |
