|
|
I have a 73d super and the wiper switch only works on the second position. Turning the wipers to the first position generates nothing. My question, is the second position the fastest position? Is the motor speed changed through gears or voltage?
Thanks

the second position should be the fastes position, and speeds up via electronic relay. _________________ 1972 Standard Beetle

Before you go and just trash the relay, see if you can pop it open. It could just be that you have dirt, etc. on the relay contacts.
I have had good luck bringing relays back to working order by giving them a good blast of TV Tuner spray. You should be able to find it at radio shack. _________________ Ghia Owner Emeritus |

Nova is 100% correct... I had a similar problem and the TV tuner spray from Radio Shack (about $7/can) did the trick when spraying inside the relay. Just make sure to give a few minutes for it to dry before you power anything up. It's also great if you have a stock radio -- mine had a lot of noise when moving dial between channels..and the spray cleared that up too!
Good Luck. _________________ - John
