I am looking at a set of 15x6 centerlines, not sure of the offset...but I was hoping someone could help anyways. Suspension is stock now, but I plan on dropping the front 2-4" soon. Will these wheels fit under the fenders and not rub without having a narrowed beam?
THanks!

yes, I have the stock setup in the rear...I guess that they are long axles. How do you tell? |

| It is the original setup --build date is sep '66. Should it be long or short? |

VW Beetles had three different sized swing axles:
~'66 Short axle w/ Short splines (no cast marking)
'67 Long axle w/ Short splines (marked "A")
'68~ Long axles w/ Long splines (marked "B")
I can't exactly recall, but the "A" or "B" stamping was either on the axle tubes or the end casting. My '75 S/A tranny has a "B" (same as '68 ). I say '68~ because the S/A tranny was still used outside the US until just recently.
This Sway-A-Way link shows the different axle lengths:
http://www.swayaway.com/VW_Components.htm#VW6
So if yours still has the original tranny it should have an "A" stamped somewhere on the axle and would be a short splined/long axle. _________________ AshMan40

| thanks for the info. the wheels have a 2" offset, so I'm pretty sure that they will rub regardless... |
