Continued from the Past Post
I was advise to enjoy the Show
Absolutly thats Rule #1
but motivation is the NEXT STEP
Yes
I had a GOAL and I made it there
and TASTE REAL GOOD when you are there
My motivation got me were I want it to be
I made it to the TOP NOTCH
And you can do it too
Joining VW Clubs helps N.O.N.A. did to me
All my RESPECT for my brothers Lee Hedges and Dave Love got me to that NEXT step
The Next pictures that I will place will speak for themselves
The 1500 club
is doing the same thing is motivating type 3 owners to restore there
Vehicles to STOCK
And we have good examples Rob Kings, Gizmo Bob, Charles (UK), Bert and on
We also have Customs Type 3 like LocalboyMark and many to mention look the GREAT job this guys are doing
ALSO mention ISP is helping by repro parts for US
Lets PASS the TYPE 3 KINGS CROWN
WHO WILL BE NEXT??? _________________ 68 T34 1600 Automatic

My motivation is to get the car looking decent again, and making it safely drivable (new brakes, suspension rubber, tires, tranny), so that my 86 year old dad, who bought it new over 36 years ago (it has stayed in the family), can take it for a spin while he is still with us and able. He has no idea I am fixing it up. He thinks it's rotting at the side of my house. I'll drive up in it and toss him the keys... and see him smile!
That's worth every dime and busted knuckle I have. |

that is awesome I have been trying to do a similar thing for my dad although not vw (69 camaro) I don't think I'll make it in time
My motivation is just the look on peoples face when you pull up in a nice old vw. Also since my Sqaure has been painted and getting closer I put my bosses shop name in the back window as a thank you for all the help and the deals he made me to get the car this close to being done. It made everything worth it when I saw his face and reaction to his shop name in my back window as a thank you.

This is a True Story
I'm NOT going to mention his name unless he want it to
an his own words
I gotta tell you, having that rack on the car really got me inspired. I really am motivated to get the Fastback up and running again. Thanks for the kick in the butt! _________________ 68 T34 1600 Automatic

Since when is a stock fasty with all the period accessoiries and 90% build with NOS parts a custom
My motivation: finishing what I started at the age of 16 and having one of the best restored TIII's in the world - sooner or later - one day !
So far showing my ego and snobism
I never cared about a beetle or the bus scene - Type III only and a litlle TIV

I guess its all relative huh? I have yet to say that a 61-65 stock T3 is better (in serious conversation) than other T3s. Dont clump me, members of the 1500 club the site or its intent into the the cold shoulder treatment that some of the "rest" of the VW community shows the T3. I choose to spotlight early T3s. You are more than capable of filling the void that you yourself seem to feel left out of? You sell parts, have a small fleet of T3s, apparent knowledge of the car yet you choose to sit back and nit pick. Pass it on if you feel "Im" letting you and the rest of the community down, please.
Back to topic. If we all were mainstream then we would own a bug. We are not. All of us has a certain amount of eccentric weirdo in us (some more than others). We all like to be cool in silence(some not as silent as others). Personality traits we all share and have drawn us to a black sheep car. I think Pedros intent is a simple one that T4, baywindow and even Thing owners share with us. In that we are here too, we attend the same shows, support the same vendors, have the same issues. Just that. Simple. Recognition in a mag wont make the cost of our cars go up. We F each other on asking prices for cars and parts. We do it to ourselves. Some yahoo sets a high price then someone else says hey my car is better than his so Ill ask a little more-when the first price was way to high to begin with! If anyone want to buy my 63 sunroof notchback for $18,000 Ill sell it to them. Ill even throw in a NOS Abarth muffler.
We have some great "known" restorations in the works with in the T3 community. It wont hurt for us as a community to rattle the cage so to speak and say "hey see what we have going on world!".
Tram for a guy that likes to insinuate solidarity, why did you build a drop dead gorgeous, working top, DD cup having sexy ride? Admit it, you want to be see with a sexy ride and it wont hurt your ego any when people say look at him and his sexy ride. _________________

My motivation is The Samba(Ev), 1500 club(Notchboy) and all the type 3 owners on this site. If it wasn’t for all the post, threads and pic I would be lost. Where else can I get all this info in one place??? Looking at Notchboys cars when he moved to San Antonio was like a dream come true. I had seen Notchbacks but not at that scale in person. Having all the support is awesome and I would like to thank ever last one of you crazy type 3 owns. THANK YOU |
