I've never had to quote myself before.
No. It is a 1956 or 1957 oval convertible lid. The hinge mount and nose opening have been modified. Enthusiasts will notice the differences instantly.

"NOS" pair of sems? Really? Wrong coil wrap, reproduction lens, ugly yellow CAD plating (look at how they didn't even take the M6 screw and retaining clip out of the body for plating, and the clip left a "shadow" on the backside of the body), a rubber hose lump rubber bumper, wrong wire and heat shrink tubing..... but "NOS"....!

I saw those listed on eBay, not listed as nos...but as restored. They have the exact same small crack on the lens of the upper semaphore. I know the restoration isn't perfect but they seem like a nice driver set if the price is right. |

Please have a look:

Wrong fenders at the front, wrong headliner- work, wrong colours for wheel center, wrong coloured rubber mat in the front, wrong front apron, 12 Volt ...
but it's all in an excellent condition (1), won different awards, ...
... and should have a woth of $50000???
After buying, I need to invest at least $15000 for removing or rework the wrong panels, colours and.... ??? |
Perhaps I'm wrong with the fenders. But if they're right, they have installed a wrong frontaxle. |
Front light should get the wiring through J-tubes. If somebody is rich enough and wants to buy his first ever split, this clean look could bluff many to believe the car is genuine and original. It is a bit sad, they have done a big job for it but instead of doing it right once they choose to go they wannabe original way. Just doing some homeworks before and with moore or less the same amount of money that could be done correct. Now this is not worth more than 10 - 15 K IMHO |

I donīt know when exactely but I think they really changed to aluminium at late splits.
But he writes "all removed from splits".
It is way more likely that these are repros than ten originals removed from split fenders without a single broken tab and all in the same shiny condition.
Where on earth do you find ten old split front fenders with perfect horn grills to remove and sell? _________________ Master of my domain! |

He took off a zero. Still too much for an oval pedal cluster in this condition IMHO. |

not sure if these are real but he doesnot say he"found"these last week
maybe someone did in the 60's at a shop/junkyard
people keep/collect everything and ten is not allot for a massproduction part |
