Vacuum tubes have a warmer, mellow sound, not like the harder edge of solid state. Wink

Seems many devices anymore, only have a tube with a heater in it, while the DSPs have become most capable of falsifying that warmer, mellow sound.... I am not much into music, but designed a whole mess of DBX, DOD, and Digitech gear, and was amazed at what could be synthed.......

Most of the pros would come around to test and give advice, and they were usually unable to discern the difference.

I’ve only seen vacuum tubes in museums and the history channel. I don’t believe I have ever heard the sound of a device that had anything like that. But you guys make it sound so nice. Laughing

Methanol, when you going to wash it first.. Razz

I would love to see pics of you doing body work. There are a few patches I plan to fix this summer, while teaching my self the ways of the mig. Those wheel well panels over the rear seem to develop seem rust easy. I really need to clean my sunroof drains really bad too. . .

There is NOTHING like tube sound. If you've ever played through something like this you would know:

http://www.ampwares.com/ffg/bandmaster_blonde.html

Shame I sold mine. I've always wanted to build a single-ended triode amp for my home listening pleasure but laying out a grand for the transformers alone has always put it off. I have been a fan of tubes for a long time, I have never heard any solid state that is a satisfactory alternative.

When I gonna washit? I dunno, I just washed my current rust bucket daily driver (VW Quantum Turbo Diesel) for the first time since I got it a year ago. The van, thats a lot of surface area to wash... I think the first thing I need to check out is the fuel system. I haven't started it up in five days and I can still smell fresh gas when I walk past it. Anybody gat a match?
