I'd buy one if they weren't lowered... Why can't they make a stock height model? Looks like the front and rear torsion bars are broken! |

The rockers looks out of proportion with the rest of the car. It's like they added a 5 inch (scaled) skirt all the way around. Front seats have headrests as well |

That is an interesting air dam/bumper. I helped install one of those on an old BMW 2002 about 20 years ago, kind of an autocross look. |

I have some of the Bug models by Dub and they have a screw in the bottom so you can tweak the rear camber...not sure how that would work on an IRS though....
Too bad there's not a line of stock thing models, but whaddya gonna do.

I thing the real shame is the scale. The Thing is advertised as 1/24th but it's closer it 1/16th. Hell it's not even the same scale as Jada's Bugs, they are like 1/20th. _________________ --- The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at and repair.

I just saw these and bought one from my local VW shop. The other bugs they had there by the same company had a screw to adjust the camber, but none of the Things do.
Hood opens, front doors open, windshield folds down, trunk opens. The side mirrors are rubber making them harder to snap off.
It's got a BN4 heater, a type 4 Porsche shroud, dual carbs, 4-wheel dual caliper disk brakes -- not perfectly reproduced of course, but shown none-the-less.
The dashboard is all wrong too.
It's a nice office toy. |

True... US Thing models were never build like a genuine stock model ( for example: JL, Jadatoys, AFX) but are allways custom.
Other models are more precise. The best and most detailled models are those from Minichamps and Wiking. Siku and Polistil are not to bad.
Over the years, I collected a few of them... must be over 50 different models now. |

Maybe they have little tiny airbags? Then they'd look stock......

I've been looking around for one of those, but haven't seen one in a shop yet. I figured that with the snow we're supposed to get, it may be a while 'till I can drive 1:1 scale version so I'd have time to try my hand at "restoring" one of those scale models to original condition.
Anyone have a stock 1600 in 1:24ish scale? _________________ You get what you get, and you don't throw a fit.
