Well I thought I would start a thread on my new toy. I traded the 68 deluxe for it and it is a project. It was quite a trip up to PA from VA to pick up. Maybe later on that story. Here are some pictures when i got it into the garage.
A rear look, you can see some one filled all the gate hinge hole with mud
Turkis nose that is now wall decore
Need a nose job
Nice seats
Stuff
Gates, 2 sets
You can see there is no cargo floor or bed _________________ Can't polish a turd!

Got the right side treasure chest door hinge carrier installed
Finally got all the top hats installed and welded
Another view, these are made real nice, if anyone needs some I have a local shop that makes them for $35.00 each. Takes about two weeks to have them in hand and ready to ship.
Picture of front beam removed and also the transaxle removed.
Put in the floor rubber mat, looks good, now I just need a nose some floors, etc. A whole lot of work to do. _________________ Can't polish a turd!

Ordered my new WW nose tuesday and it is scheduled for delivery next week, stay turned for installation. Hopefully it will be as good of quality as the front floors they offer. _________________ Can't polish a turd!

Great work so far. I'm working on a '65 single cab as well, and will keep an eye on your progress. Keep it up!
I'd suggest you add "single cab" to your thread title... _________________ Art

Please describe the fit and any issues/overall impressions. I have been holding off on a KF nose waiting for a review of this one due to needing the windshield section as well. |

So far
THE PROS:
Fit is very good
Windshield section spot welded in place
Received in a week of ordering
.
Cons:
I feel the edge/lip that bends over the a pillar and outer valance is just a little bit short
Will have to be trim on center windshield section (ref to second picture on truck)
No headlight buckets (will remove from old nose)
Doesn't come with the little piece that connects the windshield center post to nose.
Now installation;
1. Do I spot weld on truck?
2. Or do I plug weld?
Any thoughts.

Thanks Kurt for the heads up about spot or plug welding. This has been a good project so far. _________________ Can't polish a turd!
