Picked up this '64 yesterday. The car is damn near all there. It has been sitting in a shed since 1969.
More pics to follow...

I spent most of the day cleaning it up some. It has all the covers and mats under the hood. It even had the original battery in it. Floor pans are solid. No rust, even under the battery. Down side is the motor broke a valve in cyl 3.

I love these barn (shed) finds! What's the story? Why was it parked since 69? _________________ 1969 Convertible Bug

I got a pretty good deal on it I think. In all honesty, I dont know anything about these cars. My buddy has a killer '58 and it looks like a ton of fun messing with these things... so I had to get it!
Apparently in '69 the motor broke the exhaust valve in cyl 3, and the owner took the motor apart and pushed it into a shed. A family friend took posession of the car after the owner passed away here recently. Thats about all I really know about it. Everything under the decklid was in the back of the car on top of the folded rear seat. It appears its all there. Looks like it might go back together with just a head, one piston and a re-ring. Or snag that 40 horse from little john... if he doesnt hate me! |

We'll go see lil John and beat him up a little more on the price for the motor!! I'm not smart enough to post pictures of my shit so Brian is gonna do it for me tomorrow. And as far as plans go for the 64 it will be low and a narrowed beam for starters.

I love the seat cover pattern. I wouldnt mind finding some covers that are the same.
Got all the brake parts, boots, front adjusters, and battery today. Also took the front out. Gotta work while Jason is itching to do it!
John, we need to hook up so I can check out that motor you got. |

| Well, it turns out the motor is a 1300 single port. We are guessing that at some point the original motor was pulled and this broken 1300 was tossed in the back seat around 1969. Im having hell trying to find a running engine or parts to fix what Ive got on such short notice. Been trying to get the car together to take to a meet in Temple this weekend! |
