I have the rubber straps that the PO had purchased, but no idea what to do with them...

Grab em by the ball end, pull em down until the hook "hooks" the rubber.

here it is...under the rear seat. My strap is a little different though.
(sorry, I just realised that the pic is sideways) Shocked

There is a two little brackets that keep your rear seats supported when they are folded down. this strap is supposed to keep those brackets in place when the seats are not folded down.
