The plan is to have the Dormobile top in before the Sacramento Bug-O-Rama at the end of the month , so we've set aside the weekend of the 16th-17th to do it.
I'll post pictures. |

Yes, I have complete tents for both side. I removed the "bathroom" on one so I can have both tent fully closed and use the zippered opening, that went to the bathroom previously, to get in and out of the Bus.
The rear tent is called a "Rear Ender" and is an original VW accessory. I have the ZVW part number somewhere......
The most weight I've hauled with my Bus was 2 years ago when I went to So Cal from Santa Rosa (Nor Cal) for Pomonoa and the VW Classic weekend. I had both tents, 2 weeks worth of clothing, 2 coolers full of food and water, a cooler full of "spares", myself, my girlfriend and her 2-3 bags. All this was in the Bus. I was also pulling the trailer which had my entire swap spot in it, including 3 8 foot tables, 10 bins of T-Shirts, 5 bins of parts, and alot of misc. parts stuffed here and there.
This was with a 1641cc engine with Dual Dellorto 40's, and stock '65 Bus tranny.
It's now for camping only. I'll never have that much in it again, so I doubt the Dormobile top will make a difference except aerodynamically.
New suspension and engine are also in the works. More on that later. |

Here it is with the Dormobile top installed.........
Just a few minor touchups and it done.
Then it's on to the suspension.... |

Is that Dormobile top fully opened in those pictures? It looks like the canvas should be drawn a little bit tighter than that. Looking good though! I like all the extra "sunroofs" in the those tops. |

You are correct.
The top was only up about 2/3rd of the way in the pictures.
When it is fully opened the "tent" is nice and tight. |

That thing is cool! It's probably the closest thing I've seen to my double-door walk through kombi. _________________ www.bugnaked.com |

Looks like that lawn could use a little water, and if you need models for the bus I can send Chloe up there for a week or two _________________ I own a copy of "The Car of the Century" by Garwood. This means I am authorized to act like a twat in thesamba forums. |

Water.........
That's where I killed it by leaving the top laying on it all weekend before putting it on.
Does Chloe do nudes? Better yet, will she attack me? |
