well, i am trying to get my chopped bug running in the next few days, and i keep running into issues. the big one now is this:

i have a old alternator on it, the kind with the stud for the B+ terminal, and then the DF D+ D- in a circular plug area on top. i have figured out that this is for the external regulator, but i have no external regulator. is there an autozone quick fix or not?

i only have a few days to get this done before i go back to school, so quick responses will be much appreciated.

thanks much,
neil

You have a AL78 alternator. Bosch does still make a external regulator that fits. A local parts place might be able to order one or you can get one from a VW place.

Since your in Houston try one of the BAP/GEON's or ASK Imports...

They should stock that regulator.
