Well, I generally don't post in here because you guys are scary, but I guess I'll have to jump in at some point, and I had a big weekend for a first-timer. Saturday, I pulled my engine by myself, and Sunday got started on the trans (breaking a few bolts along the way).
I know that at some point, I won't think of pulling the engine out of a bus as exciting, but I'll tell ya, this first time, I was pumped. _________________ i find it very very easy to be true

I started replacing the window seals in the d/cab. Rust was a little worse than expected, but by no means terrible. Ground down the bubbles, ospho'ed, taped off for zinc primer and paint matching.
Looks like I get to try out the PNW tar stuff. Whoopee!

Pulled the panel outta storage. Oil change, new battery, A little wiring, new bumper brackets, washed, filled with gas and finally a test drive. It was soooooo nice getting to drive my bus after a few month hiatus. I was a little rusty with it being lowered and ended up grounding out the horn to the steering box!!! Damn that felt fucking stupid!!! Got back into the swing of things real fast though. Ready for the Classic weekend. _________________ BDM Hit Man.

My wife and I plus a friend, some camping gear, and three boats drove up to N.C. for the weekend. Pretty exciting; especially since the engine was on the garage floor most of last week. I'm pretty sure that there is nothing better than camping in a VW!

Nice pic. We get those here as well, but not as plentiful, and the wife still insists that I cut the lawn (where they all grow). We also get the Johnny Jump-Ups most places where there's grass.
And vinca grows right off the lawn

Dang, you all have such nice flowers. All I have is a big square hole
But I planted some garage seeds in there and hopefully they'll start growing...maybe tomorrow! _________________ ITMC - Backyard chapter

Sweet. I was looking at the picture thinking that it needed a nice 2 car garage there. And then I read what seeds you planted. Maybe it will grow larger than expected? 2 wide, 2 deep? 3 wide, 2 deep? |

Unfortunately due to the septic denitrification lines, as large as I can go is 25x28... but I'm excited about it! To be able to perform maintenance and repairs in the winter or in the rain! _________________ ITMC - Backyard chapter

Aww, Clara. The only thing I need to know in there is how to be a dumbass. There is actual real conversation about buses going on in here, and I have a whooooole lot to learn. _________________ i find it very very easy to be true

Camped with some other buses this weekend at a weekend long block party, then Sunday put the brakes back together on the S.cab and bleed them and put a new rear window seal in(Thanks for the help Cully!)
Then we pimped around town in the S.cab and snapped necks and scared little children with it _________________ Wanted for '66 deluxe- AeroPapyrus/Steel front door panels and kick panels

I got the original 25hp running, but I'm going to stash it away for now and run a 36hp until I can get some of the correct bits the 25hp needs and fix some of it's issues. I have a couple more hours of work to get the 36hp running. _________________ -Thom
