Well I took my family to a car show today and my wife drove the 60 vert I took my 50 Split and I hauled the race car down also, It was only a few miles away from home so it was easy. The crowd was blown away by the fabrication of Silver Bugget. Chip Foose was there and there were four of the Overhaulin cars there also. Chip came over and commented on my cars and told me how much he has been wanting to do a VW Overhaulin show. I told him that would be amazing. At the end of the day awards were handed out and I won Best Import with my Split and then Chip Foose chose my Split as the best car at the show.
Wow I was blown away.
Look out boys he is looking for a VW to overhaul.
What a day with my family and two amazing awards.
I will put some pics in the gallery

I saw your pics on the CLF... very cool. I'm sure he'd do a great job.

I'd love to be a part of the build crew... Wink

Very cool shot of Chip in the driver's seat! Ive always admired his work, a very clean sense of style. And obviously the man has taste if he chose your split as his pick of the day!!

Great story Lance!
Congrats!

If you happen to talk to him again, put in a word for him to do an overhaul in Reno. They could take any of my vw's, I'm not too picky Wink

Congrats on the win!

My ex GF was trying to talk my best friend into helping her submit my car for Overhaulin' when it was stored out in Cali...

Of course I would have flipped out had that had worked out. Shocked

Chip Foose is really into old bugs. We talked for over 30 minuets at the Ford Design Center in Irvine a month ago and he said it was just a matter of time before he does one. He had a friend take several pictures of my car and talked about doing something tasteful with a paint scheme..............I'm sure if someone brought him a bug soon............ Cool I told him about the Classic coming up, so all you guys watch out; he's very interested.

Better submit your apps before he chooses his car.

I also passed out allot of Samba business cards and decals that were provided by Everett. So many people said they had been looking for just the right car. Hopefully more people back in the community.

They only have a week and I think it would have to be a custom or a complete car so they woulnt have to search for hard to find parts

Maybe an oval would be good alot less parts to find. A split could be done with alot of repop parts but they would have to know what it needed so they could have it all on hand.

I was telling Lenny about this weekend and to my surprise the picture of Chip Foose sitting in my split was removed from the gallery. I have contacted Everett to find out why? Anyone have any idea why it would be removed?
