When I got my license my Dad gave me an 8 years young '58 Ghia convertible as a birthday present. My Dad was the greatest.

You can do the math.

34 -- Currently own a 69 Ghia and a 63 Rag. Excited about the Ghia lately as she's getting close to coming out of the garage on her own power for the first time in 3+ years. Evening/Weekend restoration -- not too diligent about it.

After that's done we'll do the Rag up like it deserves. Pic of the Ghia a few years back just after paint:

I just turned 28

When I was about 13, in the car with my family, we passed a used car lot with a red karmann ghia. It was the first time I had ever seen one and was instantly in love. Just seeing it sparked my interest in VWs, cars, and eventually design in general. I remember my dad mentioning how it'd be a fun car to have and my mom referring to as a "poor man's porsche".

15 years, three bugs, and a vanagon later, I finally have my red ghia (well, originally red)
