You can find them on craigslist or ebay, from someone who upgraded and just looking to get rid of.

I've been wearing this thread out looking. Having a long axle '68 seems to limit my choices though.

Here's my '68 . . .
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Late (1976) Porsche 911 alloys . . . 15 X 6" . . . front and rear

Tires; front = 195/50r15 . . . rear = 205/65r15

Front beam narrowed one inch on both sides . . . stock anti-roll bar is in place. Adjusters with stock spindles.
No rubbing issues in front . . . EVER!

In the rear . . . "short" axles (pre '67) are used with '68 brake drums (hub snout turned down to fit early axles).
Spacers are needed in the rear. The spacers are 10mm thick.
ALSO . . . the body mounts in the wheelwells needed to be taken down slightly with a grinder . . . they will rub the bulge if the tire sidewall unless some clearance is made. I ground the mounts down to about the edge of the washer . . . the bolt head is untouched. They "ALMOST" rub . . . After about 75,000 miles, there is a faint line on the sidewalls of the tire, but the lettering is NOT damaged. The paint on the mount has not rubbed through!

This car drives like a really big GO-CART! Wink

Thanks. I guess I wasn't putting the right combination in the search field.
I have a feeling I'm just going to pick out the ones I really want and do what ever I have to do to make them fit. It's only money, right?

Yes you'll find it in the Suspension – Lower, Raise, Narrow – Tire, Wheel Combinations Sticky. Lots of useful information there. Smile

After a lot of trial and error - I'm super satisfied with these fuch knockoffs from Cip and how everything is fitting. I detailed them with flat black with black low profile lug nuts.

Adjustable drop Plates
Short Axles
165R15 Nanking

Front:
Chrome 15x4.5 5x205 Foosh

Dropped Spindles

3" ground clearance and lock to lock on turns.

Hey technik,

What is the wheel offset? And the tire size?

Since your car is a '65 I assume you are using a short axle, right?

Thanks!

He has not been on for about 2 weeks according to his profile so he might not respond for a while Confused

All I know is that it is on air ride, so it might have more than just short axles.

The name of that picture in the gallery is 6" so it is 6 inches wide. The sidewalls look like they are about 50 or 55 height walls.

Someone here has to know some more about that car than me Embarassed

Thanks, Bloku!

I am asking because technik's ghia seems to have the looks I want to mine -- except for the fact I am not going with bags and my wheels will all be painted in accordance with the "deluxe" style (inner in pearl white and outer in the body color).

Wonder if he has rub issues in the rear running 6" wheels but this, as you said, is all about wheel offset, tire width, and perhaps the "more than short axles" factor Wink
