One valve on #3 piston is making sucking and blowing noises which sound like a footpump blowing up a lilo. Does anyone know what this is and how serious a problem??? |

Dildo?
How can you tell it's coming from the valve? Does the sound
seem like it's coming from the head? Did you do a valve adjustment?
We really need more info.

Sounds like the spark plug was blown out. _________________ Glenn

I had just done a valve adjustment. I could hear a noise with the engine running so i checked the valves. All looked fine, and adjusted freely. As i was turning the pulley by hand i could clearly hear, sucking and blowing as the valve in #3 (the one closest to #4) was raiseing and lowering. |

Either you have a loose head or a burnt valve....most likely a burnt valve. |

Don't fret. If it's gone its gone.
How does it drive?
Time to start setting a little money aside for some head work.....
I have a cookie jar and when I need something in the future thats not real expensive I start throwing my change in there. When I buy stuff I always use paper so I get change back to throw in the cookie jar.

Worthwhile suggestions; here's another one (from my own experience): check for bad intake gaskets. |

Thanks for the tips. Have been at bug jam uk all weekend so no time to check. Spring is fine, heads are new, but maybe the valve burnt or not seating correctly. I'm gonna check with the rockers off if valves are lining up straight. i really dont know much? im kinda learning as i go along. |
