I can finally post here! After 3.5 years it is put together and driving.
-Front beam narrowed 4" and bagged (custom single cantilever setup)
-2.5" drop spindles w/ discs
-145/65 Continentals on 4.5" chrome Fuchs replicas
-Rear air ride kit from Airkewld
-1/2" spacers
-165/80 Kumhos on 5.5" chrome Fuchs replicas
All the way up (75psi front, 125psi rear), could probably get some more height out of the rear when I hook up my 150psi compressors
Comfortable ride height (25psi front, 80psi rear), no rubbing while turning, smooth ride
Laid out

Hey guys, some really nice combinations out there! I see a lot of lowering and widening rims and stuff, but is there anyone running 205/75/ R15's in the back of an otherwise stock IRS bug on 4.5" stock steelies? I'm considering doing 165 80 R15 in the front with 205/75/15 in the back in order to lower cruising RPM a little bit and maybe even gain a few mpg's but I haven't seen pictures or read testimony of anyone who's done this! Anyone? Any input, and especially pictures of that done, would be greatly appreciated!
By the way, my car.

The front is 2 1/2" lower with dropped spindles. The rear is about 2" lower by moving the spring plates one outer notch up (1 click).
It rides great. Feels more stable on the straights and in corners.

Does anybody know if this would rub? I love stock but I also like a little bit lower. |

I love the look of your car. Could you please tell me how wide the rims are? _________________ Your Ex asking to be friends after breaking up is like Kidnappers asking to "keep in touch" after letting you go. |

I'm also curious....are those stock tires with dropped spindles? I just bought a '64 with dropped spindles and I'd just as soon run stock tires front and rear so they can be rotated if that's a possibility. Otherwise torn between staggered tire sizes or replacing the spindles with stock.... |

Im not an expert but it looks like they are stock to me. I would love to do this to my 60 but I want to make sure the front will clear the fenders without having to narrow the beam some. |

I planning on running 5 inch BRW's on the front of a stock beam with adjusters
Would 155/65 be OK or 165/65?
Thanks |
