Josh....nice seeing you and Sarah yesterday. My neighbor passed you guys on your way down Floyd Hill to the show. I came home from the show and he said..."I saw this cool blue bus on a trailer with a logo....and I interjected with "Upper Fork"....Your famous now.
I hope your trip home was safe. |

Thanks Scott it was good seeing you and everyone yesterday. The weather was a great change from what we had been having. As for the drive home..... it was really wet. The inside of the bus was soaked .
Anyway lots of fun see you guys at Bandimere. |

Given the DD's history, I would suggest a slightly revised logo (sorry but you knew this had to be coming, right? )
Srsly, great job on the panel and a great story, too! _________________ Mr. Bill |

Hey man mine to see the end result of your bus, I hadn't seen this thread since you initially posted it.
Since you have a 58, have you ever considered using the '58 colorado "skier" plates?

Thanks for the comments. I have been driving the bus at least once a week. I am stoked on it. As for the skier plates. . . . the are pricey, and I found some NOS 1958 non skier plates on ebay a while back for $11. So I actually got my YOM plate registeration in the mail on friday. So I am just going to run these. |

Nice...I'll keep my eyes peeled if I see any skier plates for you. I got some NOS 63 plates for my bug that I have been running all of the time. They DMV says that you should only run them for club meetings, shows, parades etc.....everyday is a parade when I dive my bug...ha. I figure I can BS my way out of it if I get hassled. |

Yeah same here. I had a sheriff pull beside me and ask "what kind of plates are those"? This was before I had them registered. I said Oh I forgot to take them off after a show and were YOM 58 plates. He just smiled and said great van. |

Are you guys running them with the standard registration or using them with collectors or horseless carriage plates?
You know horseless carriage plates are good for five years and only cost about $12.00 to register? The vehicle has to be 50 years or older though.

Yeah I have heard about the horseless carraige plates. I am just running it on standard green and white plates. My DMV can be a real pain and I went for the easiest route. |

Looks good, but man...a factory original DD pressed bumper '58 to use for the conversion is a little sad being that they're not as plentiful as '59 and up DD panels.
Ganja green is appropriate given this bus' origins, LOL. Jokes aside it looks like Palm Green possibly? It's amazing how dark it looks without sand green next to it. |

This thing in its current state looks killer, I even like the chrome window frames but who takes an already restored and pretty rare pressed bumper bus and does that to it? So strange! |
