does anyone out there have a '71 VW Thing, imported from mexico? i would like to know the specifications of this year thing. i would also like to know how they were equipped from the factory? did they come from the factory w/o heat? i have found one of these for sale, but i don't know the differences from the ones imported from mexico and the one's imported for the US market. if you own one of these, or know where i can obtain more info, it would be greatly appreciated! |

hi, i´m from mexico, and i have a 71 safari , the 71 is a 1500 cc. single port engine, no heater, no vents, reduction gear boxes with 15" wheels , mirrors in the doors, motor and rod wipers are differents too, no treads in the axe, they have a bolt in the rod, tail lights are similar to 60s bus with two bulbs (i have a single bulb, because, i cant get the two bulbs), front fenders and front turn lights (front lights are smaller, and so the fender), i cant remember anything else, but you can see it in my gallery images .
my best regards, Ricardo Ramírez. |
