Any suggestions on the best exhaust set up for a quiet motor? I've read here that the stock ones at German Motor works are loud. It would be cool if it could be a through the bumper set up but it doesn't need to be. I just want as quiet an engine as an air-cooled VW can be. I don't want it to sound "tough" or "bad-ass" I want it to sound "mellow". Any suggestions? A car shouldn't have to be slow and loud, should it?...
P.S. I have an all stock 74 with heater boxes and a rusty bug muffler w/ pea shooters. |

| I bought the dual muffler system from German Motor Works for my 73. It replaced the bug exhaust that was on it when I bought it. It's very quiet. It has a slightly different tone than the pee-shooters (less tinny), but not any louder... |
