After 14 years my 74 thing is finally in pieces all over the shop for a body off resto I've been looking with no succes for a new fiberglass hard top, there was a company that made them several years ago, but I can't find them... fiber jet/ fibertech?? The AZ sun cooks a canvas top real fast so i don't want to go that route this time. Between The Thing Shop and GMW and a RaceCraft custom interior she's gonna be a brand new girl! I came across you guys looking for resources .
THANKS! |

There are plenty of used hard tops floating around. Hell of a lot cheaper than buying one new, and I'm sure the folks in here will keep an ear to the ground for ya!
Good luck and keep us updated on the resto! |

Here is a link for fiberjet http://www.globalautoindex.com/maker.plt?no=212
Company name: Fiber Jet Industries
Address: 221 West Ivy, Roseville, California 95678
Tel: +1-916-783-3198
E-mail: [email protected]
URL: www.kitcar.com/fiberjet/home.html
the website listed does not seem to link up anymore.
I had one on our Thing for awhile, we sold it here last year in the classifieds. Personally we think a nice soft top is better since you can drive to work in the morning with a top and drive home in the open air.
Our top is made of Stafast that breathes nicely, I dislike vinyl as they get stuffy inside.
We bought ours used for $500, I understand the new price is about $1200. |

I have a soft top from The Thing Shop. 5 years old and still looks like new. It is my daily driver and I don't have covered parking at work...outside all day (I'm in AZ). Would highly recommend this top to anyone. _________________ PRAISE THE LOWERED.
