i recently bought a 2180 and it has an alternator set up as opposed to my old motor which had a generator. i have the motor in but now im stuck because im not sure how to wire it up. this is the first motor ive put in with an alternator so if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated...

Oldskool,
If you have an alternator that has just a B+ post and a single spade (more than likely) then you disconnect all the wires at the regulator, join the three heavy wires and join the green wire to the blue wire. Heavy wire goes to B+, green on the spade (all at the alternator) and you can keep or throw the brown earth wire.
