I bought a gex rebuild kit for my fasty about a week ago. Should be showing up anytime now, and I am now starting to realize that there seems to be an issue with gex. I did the search and most of what I'm reading though has to do with there turnkey engines or their longblocks. I just bought the internals and plan on doing the rebuild myself, how much trouble am I in for by using their parts? Is there one specific part to look out for?

That would depend on the quality of the parts they send to you. If there new you have a chance, Otherwise Shocked Shocked Shocked
Nevertheless go over everything with a fine tooth comb. You have it balanced also, don't go off of what they may have told you, and pay close attention to bearing clearances. Anything "rebuilt" will need to be checked out at your local machine shop for straightness and accuracy.

You may be ok, since it is harder to hide what they are sending you. With a turnkey, the junky stuf is inside, and you won't know how bad you were screwed till it blows.

I bought a Kelmark GT with a new GEX 2110. It got water in it, so I had to drain the oil. I always had trouble with the #2 cylinder dropping out. I had the carbs adjusted, over and over, only to have it happen time and again.

I bought a 74 SB and had the motor removed from the GT, and put in the SB. I drove 25 miles, before it blew up.

The shop took it apart and said it was all junk and nothing was usable.

Can't wait till my 2332 is ready.

Send it back, get your refund. Regardless of the quality of the parts, I would refuse to do business w/ a company that S#@!'s on it's customers.
There are other vendors much more worthy of your hard-earned dollars.
